YOUR WEDDING DAY TIPS (Wear your dress)

3 WEDDING DRESS MYTHS BUSTED

Let’s address things that come up in bridal appointments that you may have been led to believe, before ever trying on a wedding dress.

1. BUSTLE LOOPS DO NOT COME PRE-FITTED IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS
A bustle is a way of hooking up the long train of your dress to protect it and give you ease of movement later on in the day. It is something our expert in-house seamstresses can add at your request.
There are different methods of doing it and your fitter will guide you in the best way to have it done depending our your gown and requirements.
2. NO THAT LOOP IS NOT A WRIST LOOP
This is a hanger loop simply to hook the train of the dress on the hanger for travel. Wearing it on your wrist exposes the underside of your dress which believe us will be dirty by the evening! (Sign of a good time! 😉)
The train can also be super heavy and ideally you will want to be hands free for that glass of fizz, to dance and or the many hugs you will be doing! This is why we recommend the bustle method.
3. YOU DO NOT NEED A SPECIAL BRA
And this is neither for your bridal appointment or your wedding day. Our amazing designers build all the structure you need into the dress foundations, this is why they feel so incredible to wear!
Brides we know going braless may sound scary, but in fact layering a bra under all this boning and cups can actually have the opposite effect to shape and comfort.
Remember you will be putting your dress on many times before the day in a series of fittings and this will help you to get used to the feeling.
4. BONUS MYTH: BUTTONS
Most of those gorgeous buttons going all the way up from the hem to the top are probably not real functioning buttons!
Most designers use zips for ease of wear, and to give the greatest amount of structure to your delicate wedding dress. Most buttons are an addition purely for aesthetics and those on the train are actually sewn onto the seam, allowing a central finish.
